Hey Everyone! It's been awhile, I know. TOday I will be review A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab.
Hardcover edition length: 416
My rating: 5/5
V.E Schwab’s second adult novel, A Darker Shade of Magic, is one of magic, adventure, and a man named Kell. There are four Londons. Red London, where magic runs free; Grey London, a world without magic; White London, where the consequence of using too much magic is obvious; and Black London, which is more of a bed time story to scare your children. All four Londons were once connected and could be traveled by all, but alas, that time has passed. Kell is one of the few who can still travel between them. Acting as a diplomate between the Londons by day and a smuggler of magical objects by night, Kell is living the dream; until something terrible happens. Fleeing from his magical home in Red London to Grey London Delilah Bard, a thief who first robs him, then saves him from an enemy, and then finally forces him to take her on an adventure. Hiding from powerful enemies and horrible magic, they go on an adventure of a life time, which hopefully won’t be their last. A Darker Shade of Magic is an amazing book full of terrifying enemies and fabulous magic. Schwab give life to amazing characters with fully developed personalities and a great feel. You will be dragged into this tale of evil enemies and magic; and you won’t regret it.
