Hey guys! So, I was actually planning on reveiwing something else this week but, I got this in the mail and thought that it was AMAZING and I NEED to talk about it, so I will be reviewing this book this week!
So, as some of you might know, Lady Midnight is the spin-off of the Mortal Instruments Series. The Mortal Instruments series is also part of a Chronicals called the Shadowhunter Chronicles, that include a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments and some a spin-off of the prequel.
Anyway, Lady Midnight picks off with Emma Carstairs' story. The book is set in the Los Angeles Institute. Emma is upset about her parents' death 5 years ago and when a series of murders occur where the bodies are disfigured just like how Emma's parents were, she jumps in right away. They race around L.A to try to find the murderer and to avenge her parents' death.
This book was amazing! It was personally my favorite book so far in the Shadowhunter Chronicles because it had a funny and snarky lead how was also at the same time fierce and fabulous. The novel had many twists and tunes and I loved how it had such a strong story line. I love when books have the main conflict end with a hundred or so pages to spare because the author always does something amazing to give you the feels, and that is exactly what Cassandra CLare did. I don't want to spoil anything but you 100% don't expect the ending and what is revealed. I also loved how she incorporated modern things like the Cheesecake Factory and cell[phones/texting. It felt kind of relatable because so many of us have cell phones now too.
I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who has read any Shadowhunter books. If you have not read any of them then you should probably start with the Mortal Instruments because Lady Midnight dives right into the shadow world with no explanation of it.
I am so happy that I have finally been able to read this book because it has LITERALLY been 2 years since the last shadowhunter book has come out and I believe that I speak for everyone when I say HALLELUJAH IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!!
Alright guys, I hoped you enjoyed my review! If you have any books that you would like me to review then please, tell me in the comments! I really appreciate comments so don't be afraid to write something! Bye for now!
