Hey guys, this week I will be reviewing the Thief by Megan Whalen Turner!
Release date: October 1, 1996
Paperback page count: 304
My rating: 4/5
Meet Gen, a young thief who spend his days bragging about how he can steal anything. But because of this, he has been caught and sentenced to jail. But when the king's magus takes him out and hires him for a job to steal some mysterious object, he is suddenly free and now working for the very who put him in chains.
One of my favorite parts about this book were the characters. They were all so funny and full of depth. Each character had parts about them that you would never expect. The writing style was also super amazing and made you feel like you were there with the characters, and also scared for the characters. I also enjoyed the overall setting of the book, in the universe that it was written in. The tale of various gods throughout the book also added to its depth.
The only reason why i would give this book a ⅘ is because I wish it were longer. The story was so good and could have explored more thoughts if it were just a few pages longer.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, yet immersive read filled with gods and adventure. Honestly, my only regret about this book was not reading it sooner!
That's it for today's review! I hope that you guys enjoyed it! If you would like me to review any specific book, please let me know down in the comments!
